Sale Educational Foundation
Since 1909, the Trustees of the Foundation have been providing, each year, a limited number of financial AWARDS to students undertaking courses in higher education. This financial assistance has been made possible by using the income derived from
funds acquired over the years from a variety of sources.
As the Sale Educational Foundation is a registered charity it seeks to assist qualifying students who are in most financial need.
The Awards are restricted to persons who have been resident in the geographical area of the former Borough of Sale Since 1st January of the year but one preceding the year of application. For example, a student qualifying
for an Award in November 2012 would have to have resided in the area from 1st January, 2010. Should the permanent residence of the student cease to be within this area, Trustees may terminate the Award.
An AWARD takes the form of a single financial payment to a maximum of £1,000 to assist a student undertaking a course of higher education at a University, College or other recognised educational establishment.
Given the crisis in the banking industry however, and the consequential affect on the charity’s investments, it may be
necessary for the Trustees to reduce this annual grant.
Advisory notes (Word document) can be down loaded for here and both parts of the application form from here
Completed forms should be returned, no later than 30 November, to Councillor Barry Brotherton, Chair of the Trustees of Sale Educational Foundation, 3, Highfield Avenue, Sale, M33 3DW.
